Kinpira Celery
Instructions
- Peel the carrots and cut them into thin sticks.
- Cut the celery into thin sticks as well.
- Heat a pan on high.
- Throw carrots in first because they need a little more time to cook than celery.
- When the oil is well mixed with the celery and carrots, put sugar in.
- Next add sake.
- Wait for about a minute, and pour soy sauce in.
- Make room in the center of the pan and pour soy sauce in there. You can hear a sizzling sound. A little bit burned soy sauce can create a nice mild flavour.
- Turn off the heat and sprinkle sesame seeds over top. Kimpira is ready.
